When Wednesday’s legendary sedan breaks down on a deserted road, it is Enid, a mechanic, who steps in to help. Summary
At 34, Detective Wednesday Addams is the most ruthless mind in the 4th Precinct's Homicide Division. Known for her surgical coldness, her rigid routine is upended by the arrival of Enid Sinclair, a loud, defiant 22-year-old investigator with a magnetic Alpha instinct. Despising everything Enid stands for, Wednesday's solution is swift: kicking her out of her sight and down to the Narcotics unit.
But the precinct isn't big enough to keep them apart. While rumors of the young Alpha’s predatory reputation echo through the bullpen, Wednesday refuses to admit the intoxicating effect Sinclair's insolence has on her control.
Everything shatters during a suffocating night shift at The Blind Crow pub. Between glasses of whiskey and dangerous provocations under the bar counter, the line between professional hostility and raw, explicit desire completely vanishes. Caught between cynical experience and youthful audacity, the two detectives realize that giving in to each other might just be the most dangerous crime in the city.
