    Valerie and Danny are kidnapped by the GIW due to their anomalous ectoplasmic radiation readings. In the lab, they're put trough testing to determine whether or not they still count as human. Danny struggles with the cost of keeping his secrets to avoid hurting Valerie, while Valerie grapples with the real ramifications of her suit’s technology and how ghostly she's becoming. Together they must both face their truths if they want to get out alive.

    Patton Foster would do anything to help his friends. Take Virgil in after his family died? Yep! Burn a dragon to save Roman? Okay, though he doesn’t feel good about it.     But it can only be reached by a dragon. And the only dragon around is the same dragon Patton burned. His name’s Janus. Nobody expected him to agree to help, but he did, and Virgil insists it was to betray them. Maybe so, but Patton hopes Janus’ betrayal will wait until they’re through the Iron Woods. Built to keep humans out and other things in, Patton will need all the help he can get to find Logan and Remus without losing their names or their lives.

    As they get trapped in trees, drown in a lake, and almost fall to their deaths way too many times, Patton has to decide who he can trust. His best friend, his enemy who might not be all bad--or himself.
