Grace’s discomfort with Dr. Devon Hale was a slow, creeping thing. Because on the surface, she was a perfectly nice woman. She worked under Dr. Lamai on the coma bed technology, was tall and imposing with long brown hair and a symmetrical face that others categorized as “pretty”—which Grace only knew because he'd overheard some lab techs comment on it one day.
