Alicent’s stomach rolls unpleasantly and she hurries back to the altar, clasping her hands together, closing her eyes, dropping to her knees hard, pain shooting though her body. She sends a fervent prayer to the Mother that Rhaenyra and her baby will be safe and healthy by the end of her labors.

Alicent flinches, shaking her head. She wipes her lips with her other hand—the way she brushes them is unhinged and distressed. She swallows hard and looks up at the ceiling, closing her eyes. She takes a few breaths in and out. Then, when she looks back at Rhaenyra, her eyes are cold and hard, but her voice tells a different story. “Leave me alone. Stay away from me—far away from me. You fucking temptress.”
And the curse leaving her mouth sounds better than Rhaenyra could have ever imagined.
“Temptress? I feel honored,” Rhaenyra chuckles. “You were into it.”

Summary
Somehow, it’s different when it comes to Alicent. Everything is way more difficult when it comes to Alicent. Rhaenyra doesn’t want to be the first one to give in. That’s too typical, painfully to-the-point and not quite like the beloved calculated games they have been playing for years. She wants Alicent to teeter over and over again, and finally fold.
Rhaenyra decided it. She’s going to make Alicent think of her all the time. She wants to drive that woman insane. By the time the month ends, Alicent won’t be able to want anything more than her. She is going to kneel at her feet.
