“I know, honey, I know. I promise Dad’s going to find us, okay? We just have to be patient,” Peter tells her, hating the tears that spring to her eyes and her little fists curling into his t-shirt.
She nods, resting her cheek against his chest, curling up tightly against him.
The guilt washes over him for what feels like the thousandth time, feeling her shiver against him and a wet patch bloom on his t-shirt from her tears. He doesn’t know what to do.

A villain making fun of his shirt. That was a first, but Mysterio wasn’t technically wrong.
His vendetta against Mr. Stark was both insane and self-destructive and couldn’t end well for him. It was embarrassing sometimes, the extremes Mr. Stark would go to when someone was threatening his kids, though Peter was thankful for it during times like these.

AU. Nineteen year old Peter Parker has worked for SHIELD ever since he had a run-in with Nick Fury over alien technology a couple of years ago.
When Tony Stark and Happy Hogan are injured in an attack that uses unfamiliar alien tech, Peter is assigned by Fury as their bodyguard and informant. He has one rule he tells himself on missions. Or, well, one rule with three sub-sections: get in and out, stay alert, and do not get attached. (That last sub-section holds more weight than the others — by about forty percent, give or take.)
Morgan Stark — and, apparently, the rest of the Avengers, along with people he's tried to leave behind — are making the last part of that rule very difficult for him. Oh, and it turns out that Tony Stark isn't as big of an asshole as everyone makes him out to be. Who knew?

The girl made a small sound, tugging on his shirt. Tony’s attention snapped back to her instantly, something in his expression softening in a way that made the boy’s chest tighten again.
“Was it about…?” Bug trailed off as she glanced between her parents with hopeful eyes. When Tony winced, she wrapped her arms around her father’s neck and said, “That’s okay, Daddy. Maybe…maybe I haven’t been calling him home loud enough. Tomorrow can we call him louder? Maybe he just hasn’t heard us yet.”
Pepper smiled softly at the girl and pressed a kiss to her forehead as she agreed. “That sounds like a great plan.”
“Alright,” Tony said after a moment, voice lighter now—deliberately so. “Tomorrow we’ll call him so loud he won’t be able to ignore us. Deal?”
“Deal!” the girl chirped immediately, bright and certain.
As he escapes hidden underground labs, he finds himself in the middle of a forest while men hunt him down with guns. He's left to fend for himself while navigating the world with no clue as to who he was.
When he stumbles across a familiar man and cabin though, he finds himself drawn to the little family that lived there.

Morgan wrinkled her nose from her spot at the table, looking up from her work for the first time that morning.
“It sounds silly,” she said.
Peter feigned offence, scoffing at the little girl, “Oh yeah? And what would you rather my last name be other than Parker?”
“Stark,” she said simply.
In the aftermath of FFH, with Spider-Man’s identity reveal, Peter goes to hide/live with a recovering Tony. Turns out the two really needed each other more than they knew. And when people come after Peter, he has an IronFam to back him up.
