Carefully, I place her on the mattress, propping a pillow under her head. Her hair is a mess. The braid I love that she ties up into a mock up crown that makes me want to see a real crown on her head is a ragged mess. The wisps of stray hair along the lines of her forehead - the ones that normally wave in the wind and make me weak in the knees as we fly in the skies, are matted into impressive knots that I’m not sure how I am going to get out. Her silver strands temporarily are dyed red from her blood. Her skin being the palest I’d ever seen. She looks so frail, so fragile, that I am scared one single touch might break her into two, just like my heart.
