Summary
In 1814, Colin went to bed in Bridgerton House the day he returned from Greece. When he awakens after what seems like a normal night’s sleep, it’s 1816, he’s married to Penelope, and they have a four-month-old son. With no knowledge of what has happened in the previous two years, Colin tries to navigate a life that is very different from the one he left behind. Meanwhile, Penelope navigates being married to a version of Colin who does not remember their life together or their love for each other.
This is a companion fic to Here We Go Again, in which a happily married Colin goes to bed in 1816 but wakes up shortly after he returns from Greece in 1814. You do NOT need to have read Here We Go Again to read this. While there will be intentional connections and parallels, the two stories are independent. Both are part of the Falling Again series, which is now complete.

Will Colin be able to stop her from going when he finds out she is missing?This story starts in season 3 episode 8 after Francesca’s wedding, before the Butterfly Ball. As per the conversation between Polin at the Butterfly ball, it seems Colin was not staying with Pen in their house and she was all alone or they were apart even while being in the same house, it was not clear. I felt as though he had to be with her at such a time as a support and this is when Pen starts realising how lonely she is in this marriage. Here he is not staying with her.

The blue starlight of her eyes meet his, direct and clear and bright. “I am exactly where I wish to be.”
