From the moment his brother Sirius left, abandoning his duty along with his family, Regulus knew what he had to do. He wouldn't be like Sirius. He would be a good son, and a perfect heir. He would not get his daemon and himself hurt.
He had not foreseen that by protecting them, he would lose something far more precious. Now he has to fix his mistake, but it's hard when his brother suddenly decides that he needs help. When Sirius sets out on a mission, obviously, the rest of the marauders follow.
But Regulus had trusted his brother before, he's not about to make the same mistake again.

Or: Childe betrayed Zhongli and thought he would never see him again, but now he needs his help and Zhongli's condition is that Childe has to be his. Childe accepts, but he doesn't know yet what awaits him in the Emperor's palace.
