When raven came with bad news and sent Maekar down a literal spiral, the terrible inconvenience of being cared might unfortunately be the thing he needed.
And as for Dunk, he just cared for his squire too much to really notice the boundaries he better not be crossing when standing up for the wellbeing of Egg’s father, but maybe him being slow as aurochs could do he some good this time.

But that thought had oddly comforted him in a way, that there would be no grand funeral for the Lord Commander who had failed.
