Summary
Given this entire series was started by Lucanis saying of Crow Houses "A couple dozen, only five I'd recommend" combined with the 'one for sorrow' crow poem led to this being the only series name that could make sense.
(I was tempted to steal the version from the wigmaker job, but 'Five for a slaughter' seemed a little misleading given there is no slaughter in our story')
