It was cold, so cold. Tommy was shaking against him. Wilbur pulled his beanie off and tugged it over Tommy’s head. He slipped his gloves off and put them over Tommy’s pair, so he was doubled up. He slid his coat off next, which prompted Tommy to frown and speak, “You need that, dickhead.”
“You need it more.”
“Wil–”
“You’re chattering your teeth. You need it more.” Wilbur pleaded, as if begging him, begging Tommy to just let him wrap him up warm. Tommy didn’t say anything more, there was no use fighting Wil.
Or: Tommy and Wilbur are stranded alone in a hurricane.

Summary
Wilbur tore his gaze away from the back of Techno’s head. He clicked his tongue, shook his head, and exhaled a shaky breath, trying not to cry. He looked around the shitty motel room. The floral wallpaper was peeling, the beige carpet was stained and smelled like weed, and there was mould in the corners and on the ceiling of the bathroom. It was a dirty place, but they had nowhere else to go. If it weren’t this motel, it would just be another, crappier one. At least this one had two beds; last time, Techno had to sleep on the floor.
But at least the last room didn't have a body in the bath.

He looked up at the sky, the dark, blank sky. Wilbur hated Quackity for many things, but if he had to choose one, it would be Las Nevadas as a whole and the light pollution it gave off. You could never see the stars anymore. How was that fair?

Tommy only drew himself with Dream. Dream was very crudely drawn, a green stick figure with a big smile. It made Tubbo’s skin crawl.
He continued flipping through the pages, the drawings stopped, and he thought that was the end of the book, but then he found a piece of writing.
‘I don’t like the dark.’

The Hero Commission probably knew too and were trying to find him. They wouldn’t find their hero, though, they wouldn’t find Siren. He wasn’t Siren, he couldn’t be without his voice. He parted his lips and tried to make a sound, barely a squeak fell past his lips. Pure terror filled him. 'No. No, please.' He tried to speak, and nothing happened. Nothing happened. 'No.' He let out a silent sob. 'Please no. I have to tell my family I love them.'

Summary
The cave—Pogtopia, it was empty, it was dark, but it was never quiet. That rushing water never quite stilled, and when it rained, it flooded. People could come and go from the cave. Candles could be blown out. But you couldn’t stop the water from going round and round in its perpetual loop. People have tried, and people have failed. The water wasn’t even good to drink anymore. As Wilbur isn’t good to be around.

Summary
Tommy’s eyes lingered on Wilbur’s bruised and beaten frame. He had a black eye, and his arm was broken and in a sling. Neither of them really spoke for a bit. Memories of the last week and the people they've lost filled the air between them. Until Wilbur let out a laugh of sorts, Tommy couldn’t tell if it was bitter, afraid or in disbelief. “Someone on our side has magic.”
Ah, so it’s all three.

When Techno left, the servants and guards left with him, leaving Wilbur alone with his thoughts and his reflection. He stared himself in the eyes and whispered, “What are you doing? He’s killed for less. You’re a fucking idiot.” He cursed himself out. God. He really was stupid. He was doing this, tonight, sealing the deal. The arrangements have been made, and Technoblade has no idea the trap he’s walking right into. He’s a mouse in a trap, a lamb to the slaughter. One of them will die, and Wilbur hopes it won’t be himself.

Theseus Innit is but a humble man, he hops from job to job because he wants to, not because he’s forced to. He lives in a shitty apartment because he wants to, he avoids all heroes, vigilantes and villains because he wants to, he’s perfectly fine with having zero control over his destructive power and he’s perfectly fine with letting his car get stolen by extremely famous villains– wait, no. No, no he’s absolutely not fine with that, his... His car!
He’s perfectly fine with getting adopted by said villains.
…Maybe that one is true but you didn’t hear it from him.
Or; Tommy gains a family and it all started with a stolen car.

Summary
He finished the last of his hot chocolate, and only then did he decide to break the comforting silence and talk. “I…” He swallowed, trying to work out how he wanted to say this, his shaky hands focused on straightening out Wilbur’s feathers, “I visited my exile today.”
Techno’s hands stopped only for a second before continuing. Wilbur stopped writing completely.
Both of them had only one thought: "Why?"

Summary
Wilbur was followed.
Wilbur hadn’t realised he was followed, of course he hadn’t in his state. The room got darker, he swore it was his eyes falling shut. Tendrils of shadows wormed under the door, spilt across the floor, and took form. Wilbur stared at the ceiling, still dizzy, still seeing double, still sick. All he could hear was the blood rushing through his ears until he heard another sound.
“Oh god..”
He hadn’t got the mind to think, his brain was soup, he couldn’t breathe. He didn’t have it in him to notice that the ‘voice’ felt disconnected, echoey, invisible, like he was never supposed to hear it at all. He didn’t have it in him to realise that the person above him wasn’t even a person at all.
Or: Wilbur Soot, battling loneliness and mental health issues, gets adopted by cryptids after one (unfortunately) saved his life.

Summary
Tommy’s life hasn’t always been this great. Don’t get him wrong. He’s lucky, really. Not many kids like him, orphaned with plenty of trauma, get a chance quite like this.
He took in a deep breath of the fresh air around him, he looked over the railing and around at the view, oh the view.
If you told him that he’d be able to speak on stage at a party hosted by Pandora – Hero Commission, he would’ve laughed, hard, right in your face. But here he is, and he can’t help but be proud of himself. At how far he’s come. From a slippery little escape artist. To a hero. And not just any hero, he was Apollo, The Number Two Hero. Above The Blade. Tommy was rated above The Blade, can you believe that?
So, despite all his fears, Tommy knew he could do this. He can do this and so much more.
Tommy was interrupted from his thoughts by a hand on his shoulder and a voice, “Apollo?” Tommy whipped around to face a young man with dark brown hair and even darker eyes, “Pleasure to meet you. I’m sorry if I scared you.” The corners of his eyes crinkled with a smile.
Or: Tommy was finally happy with his life. He had a family, a home, and he was a damn hero. Too bad a villain had to ruin it.
