Summary
“Atsumu,” Sakusa utters, causing his gaze to snap up.
His pupils are so blown out that Atsumu can't see where they blend with his black iris. His look seems just as frustrated as Atsumu has felt all these last fucking days. The furrow between his brows reveals that he wants Atsumu at least as much and yet he’s still hesitant.
Atsumu frowns and inhales sharply.
“Ya really do want me,” he says. “And ya hate it.”
He changes the angle of his knife, so it’s against Sakusa’s neck. He doesn’t look nearly as alarmed by the cold metal pressed against his skin as Atsumu might expect. Not nearly as alarmed as when Atsumu brings his mouth to Kiyoomi’s.

Miya Atsumu has an eating disorder and gets lazy about hiding it, this leads to Sakusa Kiyoomi finding out. But Atsumu refuses help, Sakusa is terribly stubborn and in love, not wanting to lose him. Recovery isn't an option in Atsumu’s mind, Sakusa changes that.

Atsumu has had a crush on Sakusa since he first laid eyes on him at the first year volleyball training camp. He spends years too insecure to even think about confessing, he doesn’t want to ruin their friendship.
Sakusa didn’t have much of an opinion on Atsumu in high school, but his feelings for the blonde sky rocket during his first year on the MSYB Black Jackals team. When he meets Osamu for the first time, Osamu reads his feelings for his brother like a book. Osamu offers to help Sakusa win Atsumu’s heart, well knowing Atsumu has been pinning for Sakusa since the beginning of high school.

Osamu was the calm, intelligent, pleasant twin. Atsumu was the arrogant, loud, and unbearable twin, easy like that.
Atsumu was also the insecure twin, the one who overthought things, the one who listened to everything the others said and kept quiet about what he wanted to say. And, of course, Osamu was the clueless twin.
Atsumu was drowning.
Every day battling against his mother, his brother, the team and the school. He was neck-deep in water, and the smallest wave could end his attempts to stay afloat.
Lucky for Atsumu, Kyoomi felt like a breath of fresh air.

Sakusa texted him a picture of the sunrise outside his apartment in the morning, Atsumu sent him a sunset from Hyogo that night. It was like bookends. And that’s when Atsumu knew he’d already lost.
“You like him,” Osamu told him, voice uncharacteristically gentle, like he could finally sense that this too was sacred.
“I like him,” Atsumu admitted. Then he put his head down on his arms resting against the counter and tried to breathe.
Atsumu is good at being a disaster. He wears his heart on his sleeve, but he's trying not to. Someone notices.
