“Because only good things happen when it rains.” Alice replied. It sounded like a prayer—something to be written down by a thoughtful hand at first light and echoed in hallowed halls until the day dimmed.
Narcissa rolled her eyes to the greenhouse roof and reminded Alice, "We live in Scotland. It rains all the time.”
The sides of Alice’s eyes crinkled at the edges. She turned her head and looked at Narcissa with a soft sort of intensity. “I must be very lucky then.”
