Summary
Hangman’s no stranger to lying.
He’s also no stranger to dying, so of course he launches as spare behind the foxtrot teams and of course, he throws his bird on top of Bradley’s.
He isn't going to let his son die. He could never let that happen, no matter what it meant for his body. He doesn't care if he wakes up as a grasshopper this time around. Bradley is going to die an old man with Jake snoring as a hound dog by his feet — if that's what it takes, so be it.
“Dagger Spare defending!” He roars across comms, “Rooster, dive!”
It wounds; sounding far too much like — Bradley, jump! He can hear himself laugh, standing in a pool and holding out his arms for his damp little boy to slam into his chest, water wings and all.
Catch me, Daddy! Bradley declares, smiling ear-to-ear because there had never been a moment when Nick couldn't.
(Or, Goose died — but he didn't — because the moment Nick Bradshaw died, Jake Seresin was born).
