Here is a fact.
At 8:46 AM on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, Flight 11 hit the World Trade Center's North Tower in New York City. This had immediate and rapid effects that spanned the whole world.
For Matilda Ò Branáin, this meant that she, at six years, four months and six days old, was witness to one of the single most impactful moments of her life.
Matilda would never really like Tuesdays again.

Matilda Ò Branáin doesn't like change. She never has; change always means someone leaving, and her being told to just 'get used to it'. But she's thirteen, now, and change waits for no woman.
So, when her uncle sends her away from New York to a summer camp, she's expecting two things. First, she expects to be completely and utterly miserable. And, second, she expects not to see her best friend Percy until summer is nearly over.
What she doesn't expect is to get swept up in a world of gods, monsters and a growing rebellion, nor for her best friend to be right at the center of everything. But, as her uncle would say, c'est la vie.

He had his cat, his work, his books, and a constant boil of self hatred and resentment to get him by.
And then a sixth year handed him a letter from her aunt, thanking him for acting as conservator of Hogwarts and calling him Dr. Filch. It was the first time he had been called Doctor since he started at the castle. He had little choice but to write back, after that.
