“Do you actually, y’know, like him?”
Dennis bristled. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Santos put up her hands defensively. “Hey, I’ve got nothing against the guy. Robby is a great doctor and a good boss. I just… I mean he is like twice your age, man.”
Dennis didn’t have a good answer. The age thing wasn’t going anywhere, and truthfully, Dennis didn’t want it to. He liked that Dr. Robby was older. He liked that he was more experienced and hardened by life in a way Dennis barely understood. Sure, it made Dennis feel safe and looked out for in a way he never really had been before, but more than that, it made Dennis desperate to return the favor. He wanted to be there for Dr. Robby, and not in ways that were strictly professional.
When he realized he hadn’t said anything, Dennis simply shrugged. “Maybe I have a thing for crows' feet, ever thought about that?”--

Summary
Clark leaned in close. “How about this, B,” he said. Clark pressed his lips to the side of Bruce’s cowl, where his ear would be, and Bruce inhaled sharply. Then Clark suggested, “I apologize for the mess I’ve made, and then I take us somewhere a bit more private?”
“An exhibitionist then?” Bruce challenged. He seemed to be struggling to keep his voice even. Clark let his lips drag against the side of the mask until he caught skin again. He pressed a small sweet kiss to the corner of Bruce’s mouth.
“No,” Clark said. “A very sorry, but very grateful new ally.”
The hand on Bruce’s belt, moved to the center. Clark kissed Bruce’s chin, the soft stretch of his neck—all while trying to figure out how the front of the suit opened. Clark would be embarrassed by his desperation for the other man if he didn’t know Bruce thrived on it. Even now, Clark could tell Bruce’s resolve was beginning to falter—if it wasn’t an act to begin with.
“I don’t think this is the standard practice for allies,” Bruce said. “Unless I’ve deeply misunderstood your relationship with Guy Gardner.”---

“It’s not a crusade,” Bruce told Alfred. “It’s research.”
Alfred hummed but said nothing. He just poured Bruce a cup of coffee from the freshly brewed pot and looked over his shoulder at the footage.
“He does have a rather nice smile, sir.”
Bruce snorted. “The devil always does.”
“The devil, really? That’s a bit of an exaggeration.”
“No, it’s a prediction. An estimation. That man, alien, he’s a ticking time bomb, Alfred. One we’ll need to know how to defuse when it comes down to it.”
“Of course, sir. And that fetching blush of his, that’s surely a countdown to detonation?”
“That will be all, Alfred.” Bruce said it like the words would work, but Alfred acquiesced—only with a sly and slight smile on his lips.

Now it was Sonny’s turn to raise his eyebrows. “A compliment from you, Barba? You think my hopes are that high?”
“Ah, so we’re back to Barba again.”
“Changing the subject—convenient, Rafael,” Sonny grinned, he loved the way the name fell from his mouth. It felt more intimate than it really was considering it was pretty common to be on a first name basis with a colleague. “I think you’re just afraid to say something nice about me.”

Summary
“Have you ever been in love, Stanley?”
It was an innocent question.
They’d been doing a lot of this lately. Sitting under the stars when the sea was quiet. They would talk about their lives apart, but there were certain things they didn’t talk about. Stan wouldn’t talk much about those first ten years, and Ford was reluctant to share too much about the last thirty. It was nice though, learning about each other. Trying to find a way back to what they were when they were kids.
The topic of love though (love love, not the family kind) wasn’t something Stan expected. Not from Ford. Stan turned to look at his brother, but Ford’s eyes were fixed on the sky.
He shrugged. “‘f course.”

Summary
All of the dwarves survive the Battle of the Five Armies and Bilbo comes back to the Lonely Mountain with a recently orphaned Frodo one year later. He and Thorin eventually marry, Bilbo becomes Consort Under the Mountain, and the Kingdom of Erebor slowly returns to its former glory under their leadership. Meanwhile, they've also got three nephews to contend with and a Company of dwarves who can't seem to keep their noses out of everybody else's business. Political intrigue, royal headaches, cabbage patches, and hilarity ensues...

He had to do it, even though everything in him wanted to fight it. But he trusted Cas with his life. And now he was going to show him just how deep that trust ran.
Dean fell to his knees in front of the angel, bowing his head forward as he was fitted with the extraordinarily heavy collar. Castiel’s fingers caressed his skin when he closed the clasp of the sign of slavery; the symbol that gave Dean’s life over to the angel’s mercy. Dean suppressed the urge to close his eyes.
