“That was Slade.” Her voice comes out emotionless but sure. She didn’t intend to volunteer that information, but controlling her own impulses seems to be miles away from her right now. Most of the heads in the room turn to look at her.
Beast Boy stays completely still, eyes closed. She’s not sure he’s hearing anything. Cyborg isn’t in the room. When had he left the room?“How can you be sure?” Robin asks harshly, fists clenching. Terra blinks slowly and breathes out through her nose. She knows because it was embarrassing. Slade would never, ever let himself lose so publicly, so pathetically. Wonder Woman had batted him around like a cat with a ball of yarn. No matter how beneficial, Slade would never humiliate himself, not for a plan or for anything.
His head had splattered like a watermelon hitting a concrete road.

Gwen lets out a shaky breath, slowly extending her arm towards Miles. Squinting, Miles could make out the orange text only barely.
OUT OF RANGE
“Out of range of what?” He mutters, without much conscious thought. Gwen snatches her hand back, pressing it to her chest.
“Exactly! This thing can travel to thousands of different universes! No one ever warned me it could get out of range—” She begins to pace in small circles, still cradling the watch “It was working fine when I got here!”
“Are you going to start glitching?” Miles asks quietly, causing Gwen to freeze. She looks away from him, out into the city, her shoulders shaking faintly.
“I don’t know.” She whispers, craning her head to look back at Miles. Behind them, a group of people laugh loudly and pop champagne.

rumi wasn’t born with a grudge against her soul; they used to be inseparable (two halves of one whole). she supposes most people still feel that way- after all, your daemon is part of you; someone to journey through life with and share in every high, comfort in every low.
it’s just that rumi, and atlas, tend to have a lot of lows and only so much comfort. over the years their differing opinions do more to turn them against each other than not. rumi is obsessed with keeping their secrets, no matter the cost. atlas is sick of living in her shame, finding no fault in either of them.
what must it feel like to be so torn in two? to have such an internal struggle given a voice?

He had no idea how to father his creation. But I have learned from his mistakes. And while I forgave him, I cannot forgive him for denying me a companion. That is why I made you.”

Incredibly out of her depth, she has to navigate the old nation’s dangerous climate without becoming ensconced within their politics – a feat easier said than done, for a clan-less kunoichi.
It's just her luck that the Uchiha start sprouting from the woodwork. It seems she can't escape them, no matter what century she's in.

Ahsoka Tano had made her decision. She'd leave the Jedi Order, and there was nothing her Master could say that would convince her otherwise. She'd lost all the trust she'd once harbored for the Order. And for herself. The only thing she still trusted to guide her was the Force. So, when the Force suddenly started pushing against the decision she had made for herself, Ahsoka saw no other choice, but to go against her every instinct and stay with an Order she no longer felt like she belonged with.
Commander Fox had survived just fine without a Jedi general for years. He didn't need the help of a Force wielder, and neither did he want it at this point. So, when the Jedi suddenly forced a general upon him after years of fighting alone for the wellbeing of his troops, Fox doesn't know what to think. Other than that he really doesn't trust General Ahsoka Tano to do right by his boys.
