TOTK SPOILERS
The first Blood Moon after fighting through Hyrule Castle takes Link completely off guard, leaving him stranded and exhausted in the middle of a now-resurrected enemy camp. He's been running on empty ever since he acquired the Master Sword, and now it looks like he's finally gone and done it: he's gotten himself into a fight he can't win.
Only, for the second time in his life, Zelda refuses to let him die.

Link moved more slowly now that they were away from others, steps dragging a touch. His shoulders were set like he was holding himself up by stubbornness alone.
“Are you sure you don’t want to see Yona?” Zelda asked, keeping her tone light. “She said she’d be in the infirmary late. I’m fairly certain you took a direct hit to that shield three times today.”
He shook his head. “No need. Just tired.”
His words were steady. His ears betrayed him completely.
They slumped, not the soft droop of sleepiness but the heavy sag of exhaustion he was trying desperately to pretend wasn’t there. The tips hung closer to his hair; the base flattened just enough that she knew he was pushing past what he should.
Zelda stopped at the doorway to his chamber and turned to face him fully.
“Link,” she said.
He paused; one hand braced on the doorframe. “Yes?”
She tipped her head, letting her gaze flick openly to his ears and back. “You’re not 'fine'.”

It wasn’t as though he one day chose to cease speaking. It just happened.
No one wanted to engage him in conversation anymore. None of the fellow knights seemed to know what to do with him. All were a varied mix of jealous, pitying, and awed. Link could not decide which he hated most, and so he withdrew into himself more, replacing the hours that had once been filled with camaraderie and friendship with training.
Sunup to sundown, he practiced. Sometimes under the watchful eye of his Captain, sometimes on his own, a lone figure on the training field. Others gave him a wide berth, eyeing his intense stance and expression with wariness.
It was not enough, Link discovered. People looked to him with a desperate desire. They wanted his reassurance. They wanted his heroism, like the heroes of years past. They wanted him to save them.

Over the years, Link's relationship with verbally speaking has changed as his circumstances have. Each chapter will cover a different time period of his life, from Pre-Calamity to Post-Totk. Each chapter can be read on its own, like a one-shot, if you're avoiding spoilers.

Summary
When Ryland Grace awakens on the Hail Mary, he makes short work of accessing the ship's information and equipment (once he gets it together, that is). One file, however, is password protected. The prompt: Who is Eva Stratt? No matter how many memories Grace recalls, he just can't seem to get the right answer. Until he does.
Or, Stratt can't resist one final goodbye, even if she can't say everything she feels. She doesn't expect Grace to survive the mission. She definitely doesn't expect an alien planet to make contact with Earth while insisting they have "Savior Grace" safe and sound.

Anniversary side-story. Slots in around Chapter 6, though it stands alone fine if you've never read the main fic, it's just zombie apocalypse comfort fluff.
Nothing here spoils anything, and nothing bad happens. Promise.

“No... All Rocky plural, wear clothes.”
The silence is so thick Ryland doesn't even think a knife could cut it.
He stares at Rocky, even though the alien doesn't have eyes. “ So you're a nudist…?”
OR
Rocky doesn't explain a very important cultural norm to Ryland.
