Summary
Harry had been tired after the war. The nightmares were constant, loud noises reminded him of Hogwarts blowing up, of him losing his family and close friends to the war that surrounded him since he had been born. So he escaped England and went to Romania to stay with Charlie Weasley. But while he was there, Harry saw something that no one else seemed to want to see. A bond between animal and handler. The dragons, while spitfires, respected their handlers enough to know they didn't mean them any real harm. They had mutual respect, but no one wanted to see it. For once, Harry's mind tore away from the war and went knee-deep into another subject. Animals, and how even the most dangerous ones can form a bond with a human. He had been studying animal behavior and medicine for a couple of years when the news reached his ears about an opening in a whole new world. A dinosaur park, and with Charlie pushing him to go on vacation. Harry did just that, he hadn't been expecting the job offer one where Harry just knew he would fit right in.

Summary
In one world, Harry is raised by a family who despises him, finds out the reason he's so despised (hint: you're a wizard, Harry), is shipped off to Hogwarts like a belated get-well card, makes a few lifelong friends, is regularly thrown into dangerous situations in the name of prophecy, is later dragged into a war previous generations foisted upon their children, and finally (finally) after years of being groomed, of being molded into a savior, defeats the boogeyman of the Wizarding World.
This is not that world. Well, not completely—but while some things stay the same, others do not.
(Or: the one in which our favorite wizard pulls the impossible card and hops universes like a defective portkey doused in firewhiskey. And wow, would you look at that? Magic really is the biggest cheat sheet of all.

Summary
The corridor was dark and quiet as Harry closed the door to Umbridge’s office behind him and began to walk back towards his common room. It was well after curfew and the few lights lining this hallway had been turned down low for the evening, casting long and jagged shadows across the walkway. Harry gripped his bloody hand as tight as he could, hoping the wound would stop bleeding soon.
He turned around a corner and sucked in a sharp pained breath as his hand slipped over the words carved into his skin. He wanted to cry, but he gritted his teeth and lightened his hold on his wrist, hoping to keep it together for just a little while longer. He’d been through worse. He’d survived way worse than Umbridge and he would do so again.
“Potter,” a voice hissed from beside him. He jerked in surprise and turned his head wildly, but the corridor was still empty. Was he losing it?
“What the…” he started to say, but before he could finish, the tapestry on his right side slid back and an arm with a pale hand darted out and snagged him by the sleeve of his robe and dragged him into the darkness.

The year is 1924. Thomas Shelby finally feels as though he's made in life. He has an amazing house, a thriving family business, and though there's a little thorn in his side by the name of Winston Churchill, it isn't anything he can't manage. However, there's a hole in his heart that he is finding increasingly hard to ignore, one that was once the home of a woman he'd met in the most unlikely of places, one who taught him it was okay to want to be someone else.

He would have appreciated it if she didn’t also return him to his 16-year-old body.
Now, having no idea what to do, Desmond decided to let history play out the way it did before and made his way to Alamut to be inducted into the Brotherhood without being part of Masyaf.
This way he could monitor everything without being in the middle of it.Unfortunately, he forgot one important thing.
Everything he knows of this time period was based on Altaïr’s memories.
And, thanks to how different Abstergo’s Animus was from Rebecca’s, Altaïr’s memories had always been incomplete.

Blearily, Li Yu blinked open his eyes before looking around himself. The world was dark, and the water too cold.
Despite the cold, fish flicked his tail again, forcing himself to wake up a bit more.
Other than the darkness, he really couldn’t see anything as he swam through the water, investigating. Then he bumped into something. Spooked, he turned around and swam in the very opposite direction. Only for the little fish to again bump straight into something. Again, and again, he swam in other directions, until he had no other choice but to realize he was trapped. Trapped.
Outside, he could hear voices, meaning that not only was he trapped, but caught as well? Sob, sob. How had he managed to get trapped like some common carp? He had just been swimming happily down a river with a school of actual carp and then— Okay, never mind.
This little fish rammed himself against the entrapment, hoping to break free. Because even if he looked like a common carp, he was very much not.
Or: Li Yu actually is a carp spirit, not a transmigrator

But things don't go as planned, sometimes, and rather than Victor finding someone to warm his bed for a night, he finds Yuuri, who offers him an intimacy and care that he had never thought he'd have. And in turn, Yuuri finds someone achingly lonely but willing to open his heart so they can both be together in a way they had only dreamed of.

The streetcars weren’t particularly crowded this time of day. There was even a seat available as Yuri got on and he debated taking it. Most days, he would have been right on it, but sitting down seemed like a losing proposition today.
Betting against gravity is always bad money. Yuri snorted under his breath as the words he’d heard his grandfather say so many times ran through his head. He used to repeat the phrase through giggles when he was younger like it was the best joke he’d ever heard. The idea seemed so obvious as to be absurd. Of course gravity always won.
The absurdity of it had worn off some with age, since Yuri had discovered too many ways that gravity could pull at him for it to be quite so funny anymore.
