Summary

"I love you Reiner," Bert whispers into his ear. Reiner slowly falls to the ground, an indescribable expression on his face. His hand reaches unto the fabric laid right above Bert's crotch.

At first, Bertholdt wonders if he is seeing a ghost. But when the man tips sideways and grabs the wall of the building behind him for balance, and casts a haunted glance at Bertholdt before turning on his heel and walking away, almost running, Bertholdt can't stop himself from following.

They even go so far as writing their plans down and giving each other code-names.

This fan-fiction is a prequel to my other work, called “Lance Corporal” (Reiner and Berthold don’t have big roles there, and are only occasionally mentioned by my main OC - Corporal Ezra Schwarz, who also happens to be the narrator in “LC”). She, and whole Western Unit of the Scouting Legion (all my OC characters) appear in this fanfic as well. However, the role of narrator this time goes to Cadet Lotte (Liselotte) Metzger, whose story revolves around the humanity’s most wanted fugitives.
