If you like this kind of story you’re probably desperate enough to check every new one out, if you don’t, I know there is nothing at all I can say to convince you to read this one, and if you don’t know what a reaction fic is and simply start this one out of curiosity , I might be the one to drag you into this rabbit hole.
If that’s the case, I am deeply sorry, and good luck. It’s pretty hard to leave this trope behind once you’re into it.

Percy's eyes flicked down to the fresh pair of athletic shorts on the counter. To the outline of a pen in its pocket.
Truthfully, he couldn’t remember the last time he had used Riptide for anything other than writing, but still he carried it everywhere he went. It returned to his pocket no matter how hard he tried to leave it in his cabin, after all, but when it came to fighting or training he defaulted to Hades’s spear.
Strategy, he told himself. A spear was good for offense and defense. It could be thrown if need be.
Surely it had nothing to do with the fact that every time he so much as thought about drawing Riptide out, he could still hear Luke’s voice. Pretending like he cared as he drove the sword right into-
A chill slithered through his bones, and he suddenly couldn’t take a breath deep enough to feel like he wasn’t drowning.
The summer session at Camp Half-Blood is just around the corner, and the son of Hestia could not have picked a worse time to take a short vacation to visit his family in the city.

Annabeth never expected Percy to die, but someone has to tell the family, so wracked with grief Annabeth goes to Gotham. Percy was 10 when his mother and step dad died in a accident in there apparent leaving him with the Wayne’s. They obviously loved Percy so how was Annabeth going to tell them that he died and in Tartarus none the less.
Percy was 17 when he went to Tartarus, 17 when he died, and 17 when he woke up in a mysterious green sludge back in his home town.
