His hope of escape and a new life with his godfather, raised for those scant moments before the full moon released Moony and sent Sirius once more on the run from the Aurors, was as ashes in his mouth as he rode the train back to London.
Apathy saw Harry beaten and starved to the point of death such that three weeks into his summer ‘holiday’ he falls into a coma that he cannot be woken from. Afraid, the Dursleys take him and abandon him in a ditch far away from Little Whinging on their way to a week’s holiday on the Isle of Man.
When Harry awakens, things have changed far more than he expected.
