Gwen smiled. “Good. He’ll come around. He didn’t get along with Merlin, either, when he first started.”
George pursed his lip, concentrating on his work. “That’s what I’ve always heard, even though it’s hard to imagine now.” He took a dry cloth and wiped the plate free of slickness. “I took your advice and told him some jokes.”
“Really?” Gwen drawled out with an intrigued head tilt.
George sniffed and raised his chin. “Yes, I put him right to sleep.” He held up the plate inspecting it for flaws.
Gwen held back a strangled chuckle until she saw George stealing an amused glance as he placed the finished plate on an upper shelf. She snickered in spite of herself.

Basically, it’s a rewriting of episode s05e08 The Hollow Queen. Everything is the same except Gaius tells Arthur the truth, Arthur worries and goes to look for Merlin himself and Merlin doesn’t have to go through another near-to-death experience alone (alone= without Arthur) because Arthur is there to comfort him.
