Summary
Percy Jackson is twenty-eight when he dies. He would be at peace with that if it meant he got to be reunited with his friends who all died years ago, but instead, the fates spite him.
He's thrown into a new world. A world where the mist was never created, and the gods rule with startling cruelty. The Poseidon of this world lost his Percy in the war years ago, and seems determined not to lose this one, no matter what Percy has to say about it.
And worst of all, a golden tattoo of a familiar name rests over his heart, a sign from the fates. A sign of ownership.

Summary
The final battle on Olympus was supposed to be that — final. Instead, Luke wakes up in a strange, alternate version of his world where he died at seventeen, the Mist was never created, and both gods and monsters alike freely roam the earth.
In order to blend in and survive, he must use every skill at his disposal — for this new world has new rules of its own, and the gods here are much more dangerous than he remembers.
Also, why on earth does he have the Sun God's name tattooed on his chest?
(OR: Instead of dying after the Battle of Olympus, Luke gets transported into an alternate universe where he died in his quest at the Garden of Hesperides. Unfortunately for him, not only does he have to deal with being hunted down by this universe's Hermes, but also the fact that apparently soulmates exist here — and he has the soulmark of Apollo, the Sun God.)

Genesis in Daylight by saltedriceball (tealvneu). Luke wakes up at the base of Mount Tamalpais when he's pretty sure that he just died in New York. He soon finds that he is in a different reality - one in which the Mist was never created, and he died in the Garden of the Hesperides. Hermes is hunting whoever desecrated the grave of his favorite child, and Thalia, Annabeth, and Travis see a video of Luke being a Big Damn Hero in Sacramento. Love stories with no Mist and this is a good one.

So, instead of deciding to re-do his childhood But Better, he decides that this whole Mortal Hero thing is just NOT for him. So, instead, he decides to do as his kind-of-sibling Nereus does, and become a Hermit. Hell, he even makes his Mortality burn away faster than it had in the Before, so he CAN'T become the Child of Prophesy this time!
His plan is absolutely foolproof!

He then meat-puppets Gabe into appearing to have kidnapped him, and rapidly ascends. Even though he's forty, he's still in a baby body and compared to the millennia-old gods he is still a baby. Intense feral child energy.
