The Counselor had grown more comfortable around the Science Officer but still refused to let his touches linger for more than a few seconds at a time. The contact never included full embraces, either; a fact which seemed to grow more bothersome to Geralt with every passing day. The Counselor’s eyebrows crinkled together and his hand fell back to his side, “I suddenly sense an anger in you, a frustration that wasn’t present just before. Are you feeling alright, Commander?”

Just as he was about to lurch forward and check that Ciri was still safe in her crib, the french windows that led to his parents’ personal deck blew open, forcing him to take a step back. Jaskier blinked rapidly and waited for the curtains to settle. When he could finally see clearly again he took another frightened step back; there was a man standing in front of the open window.
“Who the hell are you?”
The man blinked, seemingly surprised by the question. “I’m Geralt...the Goblin King? You just summoned me to take your sister away.”

Geralt signed Igni to try to get a better look at his surroundings, but he could barely summon a spark. Still, the spark was enough to catch a flash of orange in his periphery, and with that Geralt became abruptly, excruciatingly aware of the massive pair of archgriffin wings dragging at his aching back.
A.K.A. Geralt gets wings and, consequently, a bard, and must learn to live with them.
