Cale parks the car and slowly climbs out, stretching his cramped limbs and back. It had been a long drive from Bozeman, about an hour or so, and that was after a couple hours on a plane. Nate’s clambering out of the passenger seat, also stretching his body out. Cale walks around to the trunk and grabs their bags. “Go inside, I’ve got this,” he instructs Nate.
Nate hesitates. “You sure?”
“Go,” Cale says, smiling. “I know how excited you are to see him.”

Summary
Sid has a lot of responsibilities as captain of the Penguins. He has to come up with new and interesting motivational speeches and deliver them at appropriate times - between periods in a close game, during long and tiring playoff runs, at the beginning of a new season. He has to handle the rookies. Take them out to lunch, welcome them to the team, make sure they have a place to live, handle the emotions that come with making the jump to the NHL, all while dealing with them being terrified of him because he’s Sid. He has to talk to the coaches and front office to make sure everyone’s on the same page about the team’s direction. Of course, he also has to handle some of the older guys, the vets who are stuck in a rut, feeling down on themselves but too embarrassed to turn to him for help - so on top of everything else, he has to make sure to pay attention to everyone so he can jump in before things go too far in a bad direction.
One thing that he absolutely point-blank refuses to add to his list of captainly duties, though, is taking care of nesting goalies.

It all starts at practice when Ivan's stick ends up a little too close for Jordan's liking or so everyone thought as it wasn’t the first time he had grabbed onto a stick and held it, he even did it during a game. There was however, a little more concern when he didn’t let go after a couple of seconds, but Barbs just dropped it. Jordan then made a break for the bench players alike watched as he barreled down the hall to the dressing room with the goalie coach hot on his heels.
