When Girlfriend answered the knock at the front door (home alone for the time being until her parents got back from dinner), she was surprised to find Boyfriend standing on the other side. He hadn't texted before coming over like he normally did, and she definitely wouldn't have expected him over at this time of night.
She blinked confusedly and looked to the right down the hall where her father's old grandfather clock stood to find that it was just nearing six o'clock. She even reached into her pocket to check her phone to look at the date—the last she had checked it was Friday.
