Summary
"For a while, there have been strange humans appearing on the island, but smaller and different - children. Yoongi doesn’t trust them immediately, especially because sometimes they yell and cry and sack things out of fear, anger or frustration, and that scares him a whole lot. But he soon realizes that most are in fact just lost, sad - broken almost.
So he takes on the habit of helping them out a bit, as much as he can, considering his very little size that makes him unable to talk with humans. Still, he can use his body to tell them things, or answer their questions, about where to stay, where to find food, who to avoid.. and when or how they can leave.
Yoongi doesn’t have the answer to that question. All he can tell them is that most children here come and go, and that he doesn’t know the reason for it. One day they appear out of nowhere, and another day they’re gone, their friendship and memories with them.
And one day - one day there’s Hoseok."

"At first Yoongi’s just watching him work, to listen to it and help by keeping him company, but after yet another sigh - he takes the mouse away from Hoseok, shuffling closer to have access to the keyboard.
He tries a few changes, thinking it might be better, but when they try and play it again it’s still not right.
Yoongi tries to laugh it off, cackling breathlessly, and turns to look at Hoseok when he doesn’t laugh like Yoongi. He gives a tight-lipped smile when he meets Yoongi’s eyes, but it’s obviously forced and his leg keeps moving up and down - he’s stressed and getting annoyed and Yoongi doesn’t like when he is."

“This will take forever to dry!”
“We’re not going out today anyway,” Hoseok says, coffee already in hand as he immediately turns around and goes to seek out the shampoo, “But I hope we won’t get sick again.”

"When Yoongi got in college, a year before Hoseok, he was a bit disappointed, bored, sad even, without him around, without being able to admire from afar, like a creep he didn’t want to be. It was strangely saddening to think that maybe he wouldn’t even go to the same college as him, and so Yoongi would never see him again.
But he did. And even more than that, Hoseok became friends with friends of Yoongi’s friends - all in all, it brought them together a few times, Yoongi panicking over it but also being so utterly excited every time. His stupid crush was brought back to life, even stronger than before."

"Three years ago, though, they had decided there was too many of them. They stated if this kept on going, humans wouldn’t be the majority and norm anymore - and with some time and preparation, all of the half-aliens were required to move to another planet, one that was supposedly liveable and habitable.
They started sending raids to find them, in houses and public places, and then even in schools. And if they didn’t obey, refused to pack their stuff and literally move to another planet - they got put in jail. That is, if they weren’t killed by mistake beforehand, or in self-defence.
Jungkook, Jimin, Namjoon, Hoseok and Seokjin had been hiding Taehyung and Yoongi from them since then."

Yoongi looked down at his marbles, took the big red one, and showed it to him, “I can give it to you. But take me on your back in return?”
“Oh-” the kid smiled big, got on his knees next to Yoongi, “That’s was the one I like!”
“I know,” Yoongi said, and gave him the marble, “I read it in your mind.”
His eyes went wide, amazed, “You can read minds?”
“Yes, it’s my superpower!” Yoongi proudly stated.
“So cool!” he exclaimed, “No one reads minds in - where - uhh. I don’t know anyone who reads minds.”
Yoongi thought it was kind of funny that he was stumbling over his words, and it was probably because he was younger and couldn’t talk really well yet. It didn’t matter anyway, because he just wanted to run, too.
“I know people who run fast like you,” Yoongi went on, “But they never took me on their back. So you will, right?”

“Ah, yeah, Jimin-hyung and I went just the other day.” Jungkook answers, and he doesn’t even turn to where Yoongi’s trying to show him his phone, just keeps staring at the TV, “It opened a week ago or something.”
“Oh, right.” Yoongi gets his phone back to his lap, stares at Jungkook for a second and swallows, trying to get rid of the irrational feelings already growing inside him, “Well, we should go anyway. It looks delicious. We could even go tomorrow, uh?”
This time Jungkook does spare him a look, one that looks like an apology, though he’s quick to get his eyes back on the screen as he says, “Uh, we were planning to go again, actually.”
“You and Jimin?”
“Yeah,” he confirms, and then turns to him when Yoongi stays silent, “But you can come along, hyung.”
You can come along, hyung. Ah. Crazy how casual, friendly, that sounds.
