Lambert is an omega who hasn't told anyone his status because the school of the wolf found a way to breed omega witchers to create babies with higher chances to survive to the mutagenes. by the time Lambert presents and figures out how to keep everyone from knowing, the keep has fallen, so it never comes up anyway.

Disappearing is the best word they can come up with, though they know him not to be gone and they know where he comes in and out—the tunnels of the mines run deep, most entrances blocked by the destruction of the dragon, a little opening that would never fit the broad shoulders of a dwarf yet is no problem at all for a hobbit.
