“Could you take those files up to Chief Irons?” Chris nodded toward the folders in question, already backing toward the door; intent on going to wash off in the locker room, no doubt. “They’re victim profiles for the Mannequin Killer case–” a series of grotesque murders where the bodies of five young people had been found scattered around the area, taxidermied until they were doll-like “–and he said he wanted to review them again.”
Leon nodded as Chris left, but glanced toward Wesker when he huffed behind his desk, shaking his head a little. “I am not sure why Irons is so fixated on that investigation,” their captain said, waving a hand. “But by all means, Kennedy–go.” The barest hint of a chuckle. “Just don’t linger too long in the chief’s pleasant company.”

Leon S. Kennedy knew three things with absolute certainty:
1. He’d been choked out and slammed into walls more often in one day than he’d been in fucking years. Which only meant that it was a goddamn miracle that he’d managed to drag himself up the hospital stairs.
2. He really needed to reconsider this whole therapy business, because he could no longer deny that it was hard to close his eyes without finding himself right back in that chair in some fucked up asylum’s makeshift torture attic or being entombed with a girl he’d been desperate to save.
3. He’d risk it all again if it just meant Grace could beam down at Emily a moment longer.

Or me breaking my promise to stick to one shots. But not to worry, I finished the whole thing. I just need to space out the Angst my brain produces in procrastination mode. This is still (technically) Part III: Down-Time may do wonders for the amount of quality time Leon gets to spend with his kids, but it also gives him plenty of space to reflect on all that has happened and really go down a very dark and gloomy memory lane.Series

He shuffled towards the bathroom, rubbing a hand over his face. His reflection in the mirror over the sink looked worse than he felt, pale, hair sticking up in every direction and dark circles under his eyes turning the skin almost purple. He tore his gaze away and turned on the sink, splashing cold water onto his face.
When he let his arms drop, he noticed something on his right hand. A small bruise had started to form. And then he started coughing again.
