“Never been better, sweetheart,” says James. It isn’t the first time he’s used that nickname to get Ryan all flustered and sputtering. It’s… maybe the first time he’s used it with this kind of feeling behind it, though.
Ryan splutters anyway, so it’s a win-win in James’s book.
