As Reo shifted gears and started heading back, he asked Nagi, “How are you feeling?”
Still loopy, Nagi drawled out his response: “Not bad. I’m thinking reaaally hard about something though.”
Reo laughed at how out of character Nagi was acting. He decided to play along with Anesthesia Nagi’s antics, so he continued, “Oh really? What are you thinking about?”
As if it were the most simple, obvious answer, Nagi replied, “How much I like you.”
They were both lucky Reo had already been at a stop light because otherwise he would have slammed the breaks. Surely Reo had misheard that.
(Or: Nagi gets his wisdom teeth removed, but it's really Reo who lacks any wisdom.)
