He didn’t know how he would have made it through his quest without the support of the Shade; a comforting presence by his side, who taught him to protect himself and guide him on his long journey. A bright light in the midst of shadow, settling his soul and reminding him that he wasn’t alone.
The Shade had been a past Hero, pulled through the threads of time to help him in finding his own purpose.
The Shade had long since passed on.
Now it was his turn.
This kid was his.

Summary
Meeting the Chain, but in chronological order by how the games were released! Inspired by a Tumblr post (how do I link things on this site?) that I could not get to leave me alone, so here we are. (Will not be including the Master Door, despite it being the best thing I have seen come out of the insanity of Linked Universe Tumblr.)

Link had no idea where he was. Which is usually normal for him, except for the fact that he had been sucked through a creepy portal.
Link was already having a bad day, what with his half-sister's festival he refused to go to and his business partner deciding now was a good time to visit Lorule (which meant he gets to run the shop that he has no clue how to do!). The kid in green on his doorstep did not improve his day, unfortunately.

Link has agreed to take these 8 travelers to the nearby Highland stable, across the Bridge of Hylia. Just as he does every day, Farosh rises from the water. Link has only ever known one other person to be able to see the dragons, Zelda, but that's about to change.
Now a multi-chapter fic, where Wild and the gang try to be friends, but it will take a little time, a little effort, and a few secrets shared.

The group made their way over to the two Hylians, where the individual they had rushed to save was conversing with the newcomer. The newcomer was heavily scarred on his left side, and from the bow on his back, he was the archer who had brought down many of the monsters.
“Hello,” Time said, as he nodded to them. “Could you point us toward Castle Town?”
The scarred man blinked. “Nanda?”
…
The Heroes of Courage are spread across ages. Hundreds to thousands of years between them. It should come as no surprise that they are having some trouble communicating. But when they’re dropped in a world of alien technology and a language wholly unfamiliar, they really wish Hylia had thought ahead.
Or, the gang-meets-wild fic in which there is an appropriate amount of linguistic drift between Links, Hylia does not provide Google Translate, and Wild is a linguaphile among other things.

Wild has been keeping most of his journey a secret--the Chain only knows that the Calamity destroyed Hyrule and that he can come back to life with Mipha's Grace. They don't know about the other dead Champions, that he slept for a hundred years and lost his memories, that he failed. And frankly, he's not sure if he wants to tell them. The other Heroes of Courage would be ashamed he shared the Hero's Spirit with them, they would hate him for how he let down his kingdom and friends.
Of course, Wild might not get a chance to hide his secrets as the Chain travels through his Hyrule.

The only problem is, they happened to meet him on one of the only days that he's forced to act like a real person and they managed to get the idea in their heads that he's a responsible adult or something. Instead of correcting their misconceptions of him, he decides to have a little fun with it.
