Summary

Ed has a great deal of healing to do. Physical, emotional, psychological. And, as much as he hates to admit it, he just can’t do that without at least some contact with the cause of it all: Stede fucking Bonnet.
As Ed’s scars slowly knit back together, and Stede gets the chance to darn the gaping holes he tore in Ed’s soul, the threads of their lives begin to weave into a skein of something new. Something potentially very fine.
And, who knows?
Maybe this time they’ll both be lucky. Maybe this time Stede will stay.

Summary
It’s only when he traces his fingers against the place on his chest that Stede touched, when he tucked that piece of silk into his pocket, that he understands. It’s pathetic, he knows that. It makes him feel small and lost and very unlike the self he’s created out of blood and fear, but the fact is there, bright and bare and undeniable. He wants Stede to hold him. To touch him with those gentle hands, to brush those lips against his forehead and whisper sweet things to him, to wrap him in softness and warmth and make him feel precious. He hasn’t felt precious for such a very long time.

Stede did not expect to have as much in common with his guest as he turned out to. He did not expect to enjoy his company as much as he does. And he certainly did not expect to fall in love with Edward Teach the way that he can’t seem to stop himself from doing.
