He doesn't realize how childish the idea sounds until after he's said it, but if anything, Nancy looks relieved. "Sure. On three."
"Okay," Jonathan nods. "One…two..."
“Three," Nancy finishes.

He breathes out. It rustles Nancy’s blouse. He pulls back, from both of them. “Can- can we talk about everything tomorrow? We should all get some rest.” He rubs at his neck, guilt, shame, and everything crashing down on him.
Nancy smiles sadly at him. “Of course. We’re on your time, Stevie.” And Steve blushes at the nickname, looking over at Jonathan.
“O-okay, well, I’ll see you guys tomorrow then.” He tries not to sound too awkward as he stands up and slowly walks towards the door. Jonathan makes a noise, and it takes everything in Steve not to turn around.
“You could stay with us. I just- I think not sleeping alone helps, sometimes.” He says, awkward as hell. But he keeps his eyes pinned to Steve’s back.
Steve slowly turns towards both of them, looking at them wearily. Nancy is smiling at Jonathan. And. Well. Steve feels something in his chest fracture even more.
“I couldn’t.”
Steve is bad at vulnerability. So are Nancy and Jonathan. But their combined determination is enough.

Will gathers up all his courage into his sore arms, cradling bravery against his chest, holding it over his broken-and-then-healed ribcage. “Ever since I got back from the Upside Down, I’ve been in pain.”
“What do you mean?” Mike asks.
“It’s like I came back wrong. My body hurts pretty much all the time. It wasn’t that bad when it started, but it just kept getting worse and worse and now I’m just—” Will swallows the lump in his throat. “I’m crippled, basically. I’m sorry.”
Mike’s mouth opens and closes a couple times. “Hold on, did you say since the Upside Down? Three years ago?”
Will nods.
“And when you say ‘all the time’, you mean all the time?”
“The severity changes a lot, but yes.”
Mike looks… very concerned. “Even right now?”
It’s not funny, but he laughs. “Especially right now.”
