There’s a flash of color, a rainbow of faded cloth against the gray background. A girl, the Girl is watching him and when he meets her eyes she smiles. Maybe it’s the Universe or Fate, or maybe Peeta somehow knows how his own story will end, but he doesn’t turn away.

Lucy Gray steadied herself with a deep breath and ran her hands through her tangled hair, rocking back and forth to some rhythm only she could hear. It was okay. She was okay. For now at least, she held herself together. Lucy Gray pulled herself up to stand on shaky legs and wiped the remaining tears off her face. She could do this. She would not let that stupid man be her downfall.
There was a crack of a branch breaking behind her and Lucy Gray spun around to see a young girl staring back at her, with a clumsy nocked arrow just waiting to be shot.
Could..? Could Lucy Gray have made it to where Billy Taupe always monologued about?

The Capitol had fallen.
No one knew exactly what happened, but they were aware it was somehow connected to the tribute from District 12 who had volunteered in her twin's stead. Katniss Grey Baird had somehow managed to topple down an empire with her knowledge of the future and the way she manipulated Coriolanus Snow.
She had honestly expected to loathe the mere sight of him, but discovering the loathed president she had known in her time used to be young and foolish...It was safe to say Katniss was honestly lost at the idea of catching feelings for the same man who had bled Panem.
Katniss certainly hadn't expected the Districts as well as the former Capitol to be gathered in order to watch the future she had saved them from.
