Inside me there are two wolves: One who thinks 310 was the perfect ending for Ogata and one who wishes there were more resolution to Vasily's story. This fic is what happened when I let them fight it out.
Vasily has waited too long to finally determine the winner of their contest, and letting Ogata die here would be too easy, too anticlimactic, like the disappointing thud of an artillery shell that doesn’t detonate.
He gets to decide whether his prey lives or dies, and for now, Ogata must live.
