It was Bosacius mask, no doubt about it.
"I figured you might want it.", Zhongli uttered.
The young adeptus opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out but a shakey breath. Zhongli had healed the cut on his arm and face with upmost care, yet he felt he had just obtained a hundred more. Xiao didn't even notice himself crying until a tear fell down onto the broken mask.
The adeptus blinked surprised and touched the wet trail on his cheek, which his tears were leaving behind. He seemed as if he didn't belive for the tears to be his own.

Or; a teaser showcasing a montage of moments set in the Depths of the Dark Sea for a punishment supposed to be only reserved for a poisoned Venti. Both Zhongli and Venti try their best to navigate through the unknown place while having each other as their solace and also trying to get out of there alive (hopefully) together.

In stark contrast, his own archon had clumsily fallen off the horse into a water trough mere minutes ago, now earnestly expressing a desire to play the flute for livestock.

He won’t be gone for too long; you will hear from him tomorrow at evening at most. I assure you, there’s no reason to worry.”
The look that Traveler and Paimon exchanged reaffirmed Zhongli’s suspicions: that, even in his human form, his instincts rarely were off.
Traveler finally met his gaze again, his eyes even heavier with worry than before, and Zhongli was reminded of what he already knew: Traveler rarely acted out of unfounded concern.
“He’s been gone for three days now.”

The need to speak, to say anything at all, struck him unexpectedly. For he did not busy himself with discussing trival, mortal matters such as emotions. Yet somehow, everything that he had gone through so very recently and everything that had been said to him had managed to shake that near core belief of his.
It felt as if he did not speak up to atone for what he had made Rex Lapis do, he would die then and there, wilting away into dust that would become nothing more than specks in the wind.
"You saved me," Xiao whispered eventually—voice hoarse and choked with something he did not have the strength to identify, lest he break apparently completely.
Beside him, Rex Lapis hummed. "Indeed," he rumbled, and not another word: allowing the silence to stagnate between them. Xiao did not turn to face him again. Could not bring himself to face Rex Lapis, his cheek still burning from the cut across it and trails through the dust and grime of his face where he had been able to stop tears from escaping.
Post Perilous Trails, Xiao and Zhongli have a much needed conversation (kind of).

Slowly, so slowly, Jinx's breathing peters out, her sobs turning into quiet gasps and strangled breaths, and then she's staring up at Vi with dull eyes– no longer tortured by whatever visions she was having, but empty all the same. "Vi?" she rasps. "Are we dead?"
"Not yet," Vi promises, and she carefully rearranges them, half-drags her sister over to the wall so that she can lean across a hard surface, her sister's head in her lap. The burns marring her sister's face make her a sorrowful sight, but Vi pays it no mind, dragging fingers through Jinx's hair instead. "I don't know where we are."
Jinx sniffs, but she doesn't pull away from where she's now tucked into Vi's lap. "Guess that's a… good thing," she says, her voice still hoarse.
