God, she was so fucking mad at herself. How could she have been so stupid?
And what's even worse, she'd dragged Dylan in to die with her. Dylan, who got his fucking hand cut off and was suffering from blood loss and probably shock, but still managed to save her life back at the scrapyard.
And now it's all going to be for nothing, just because Kaitlyn didn't take a quick second to make sure the door didn't latch.

Kaitlyn drags Dylan into the freezer with her to escape werewolf Caleb, but despite having avoided a death by mauling, both of them are now trapped and in danger of freezing to death. The clock is ticking; will they make it to morning, or will hypothermia finish what the werewolves failed to do?

“He—” Ryan points at Dylan like a child tattling to an adult, “he told me to!”
“I would really like for the record to show,” Dylan says, his voice entirely too steady for the state he’s in, “that I said ‘cut it off.’ Not shoot. Cut. There’s a perfectly good chainsaw right over there.”

The boy in black, Ryan, skidded to a halt before them, a little out of breath. Had it really been less than a full day since they’d stood in this exact spot in the golden evening light, shooting the shit over mundane topics like luggage and podcasts?
“‘Sup, man?” Dylan said, entirely too casually. He immediately wanted to punch himself, repeatedly, in the face.

You ever manage to fuck something up so bad that you couldn’t even replicate the fuck up if you tried? Well… this was one of those moments.
In his mind's eye, the ball floats gloriously through the air, curving up and then dropping down perfectly through the hoop. The net swishes as the kids erupt into cheers, and Dylan can be rest assured this his ‘cool points’ with the kids — and with Ryan — will forever be at the highest they can be.
In reality, the ball leaves his hands and beams Jacob right in the face.

Dylan opened his mouth for a retort, then quickly shut it again. “Okay, poor choice of wording, but my point still stands.”

“Zhongli,” Venti manages to murmur. His throat still hoarse from the screams and probably the cold that he will get after this.
Golden arms fix him on a stool and Zhongli refuses to look at him.
Warm water pours on Venti’s head, making his hair cover his eyes again. Venti is sure that blood is dripping from his hair, too. Everything is reeking of coagulated blood, a remark of the familiarity of it dies in Venti’s tongue. Zhongli hasn’t said a single word since Venti woke up, it’s better not to bother him. The stars know what would happen if Venti said the wrong thing. If it were Venti who saw Zhongli stumble upon him with a hole in his chest, his reaction wouldn’t be a pretty one.
Also called: Zhongli's bad (or good?) timing when it comes to visiting Venti, and Venti's unlucky day.

The General Mahamatra shows up bloody and barely able to stand outside of Candace's door in Aaru Village, while at the same time, the General Watchleader is found outside of the Palace Of Alcazarzaray, badly beaten and suffering from major electrical burns.
A broken hearted and extremely sleep deprived Cyno-already suffering from an extreme loss- explains to Candace and Dehya that Tighnari's drugged him, and the two of them got into a fight, leaving the other badly wounded.
Meanwhile, a confused Alhaitham and Kaveh struggle to understand why Cyno of all people would attack Tighnari, leaving him so battered and beaten he's feral.
Can Dehya and Haitham discover the truth before it's too late to save any of them or will it all be too late?
