Jayce is tired of being stuck in this same circle, guided by the magic festers within him and unable to escape. He's tired of killing his partner over and over and never feeling any closer to purging the world of this arcane rot that seems intent on consuming the land. Viktor only offers salvation.
This is based on the fandom theory that Jayce was stuck in a time loop before Act 3 came out (I guess it turned out he was, but in a different way).
This is a more polished rewrite of the earlier fic by the same name.
