Summary
Ever since the fumbling little sunspot first wandered into his garage, Driver has been playing it safe. He’s meticulous, he’s calculated, and he’s patient. He makes sure Grace stays within his orbit, one carefully orchestrated repair at a time. It’s an everyday dance of grease, sunlight, and quiet observation. He can be slow, he can be gentle, and he can be good—because as long as Grace is near, he has all the time in the world to wait.

Summary
After everything that happened, Driver ran.
He left everything behind– Irene and Benicio, the autoshop that became his second home, his apartment and what meager collection of earthly possessions he had to his name. Staying too close to home, while offering a facsimile of comfort, was just too dangerous. He had to keep going, further and further, as far as he could before he hit water and ran out of road.
That’s how Driver ended up in Miami, Florida.
Months after settling down, not yet having relaxed past the paranoia of being followed by his past, it finds him in the back of his taxi when a man climbs in, soaked in blood.

Summary
“Wait.” Driver says against his lips, and he pulls back immediately, eyebrows scrunching with concern. Driver swallows, suddenly feeling mildly embarrassed.
“I haven’t done this before. With a man.”
“We don’t have to-“
“I want to.” Driver meets his eyes. “I want to.” He repeats, firmly. More sure of this than he’s been of anything in a long time. “You might just have to show me how.”

“I’m Ryland Grace, from the third floor.”
Dangling at his side, his hand felt useless and exposed. Ryland stuck it out instead; the man’s eyes snapped up and Ryland noticed they were a light blue.
Supple leather slid into Ryland’s hand, grasping him with a firm grip, pumping twice. Ryland stared, feeling warm.
“I’m also on the third floor,” the guy said softly, startling Ryland into looking up again.

Summary
“I’d like to do this for you, Grace.” Driver smoothly unlocked the passenger side door, opened the glove box and took out a hand towel which he offered to the older man. “If you’d let me.”
Grace found the confidence to look back at his student. Wrong decision. Driver held a small, almost timid smile, giving the general aura of a dog stuck out in the rain despite being the one who was dry.
“Please.” Driver added.
Damn it! An earnest ‘please’ was one (of many) of Grace’s weaknesses!
Or: A 40-year-old Grace who's a GED prep night schoolteacher and just a little bit insecure gets offered a ride home by a 20-year-old Driver, who is head over heels for his teacher. They spend a wonderful night together, but Grace can't seem to get over his very conflicted feelings about the whole situation.

Summary
"Sorry for trying to kill you, but it wouldn't have worked, anyway. There's no ammo in this thing, and I'm running low on this one.”
Bryan nearly gives Leon a heart attack when he lifts his shirt and shows a haphazardly stuffed handgun that's sticking out of the waistband of his jeans.
“Don't put that there,” Leon says hurriedly, willing his heart to calm down. He keeps imagining the horror of it going off and blowing clean through Bryan's femur. “And - hey, wait. That's a standard glock that's issued to all American officers. Did you steal that?”
Bryan at least has the decency to blush in embarrassment as he hastily shoves the hem of his shirt back down.

“Why the gloves?” Ryland asked, doing his best to sound more sober than he felt.
The man adjusted his grip on the steering wheel, his other hand remaining on Ryland’s thigh.
“Comfort,” he replied, plainly.

An involuntary psychological state of intense, obsessive infatuation and longing for another person, driven largely by the uncertainty of whether those feelings are reciprocated.

Summary
After breaking up with Hannah, Jacob thought he'd never fall in love again. That is, until he saw Mr. Grace walk in to the little bar he began visiting.
Mr. Grace was looking at him with stunned, watery eyes. The baby blues were near eclipsed by his pupils, relaxing in the low light. A furious blush had made his way onto his cheeks, showing up clear as day under the lightly tanned translucent skin. His mouth was parted slightly, the softness of his bottom lip glistening.
Absolutely beautiful.

Summary
Colt is hiding something, Ryland is clueless, and Driver just wants that cookie so effing bad - or: a lot can happen during a three-day camping trip.
"The moment Ryland met Casey could have been a scene in a cheesy romantic movie. One of the good ones, where the leads fall in love at first sight and just know that they've found the One even if they're too scared to admit it to themselves at first. That's how Ryland likes to fantasize about it, at least. And then he imagines the happily ever after that follows once the protagonists get over their insecurities, and a part of him knows that if he gets to kiss Casey, if he gets to feel that soft smile against his lips even once, it would break him to ever let go."

Slowly, he leaned closer to the other man, lips stretched into a tight smile, barely concealing the threat in his hissed words, "Do you want to rephrase that sentence again, Palmer?"
It was an out.
Jacob took one look at the exit out of his situation just to turn his nose up, head tilting slightly with a flirty grin, fucking — batting his lashes up from where Seb was fucking irritated with fucking glee.
… Right. Of course.
