Albus Potter begins his first year at Hogwarts, which is plagued by uncertainties. He is sorted into Slytherin and separated from his family, including his lifelong best friend, Rose, and on top of that, his magical abilities are far behind those of his classmates. His only solace is in his new friend, a charming and socially ostracized boy named Scorpius. But all is not well at Hogwarts, or in the country at large. An international multiple murderer is on the loose and rumored to be looking for powerful magical objects, and Albus begins hearing a lonely whisper in the depths of the castle. [This story uses some of the same characters/concepts from the Cursed Child but is otherwise a completely different story. It will hopefully be the first in a series focused on Albus, with this first story mostly centering around his friendship with Scorpius Malfoy and his struggling to be accepted by his family. Also, Harry Potter is a great dad in this story because I think he would be, and out of protest for him being excluded from the movies, Charlie Weasley now gets a fair shake.]

So fricking good. Phenomenal companion to canon, a remadora romance with delicious action scenes (seriously impressed with this author's creativity and handle of magical action scenes!) , and a delicate and devastating dedication to the canon plot...
Canon has spirited teens and "grown-up" adults, but we don't see much of those in-between young adults-- this story has a phenomenal Tonks characterization with a 24 y/o Tonks who is so capable, intelligent -- a clear auror protege, but also so young and optimistic and stubborn with her heart.
You wanna bash that self-doubting Remus' skull in at times, but he is written with a lot of gentleness and none of us wanna give up on him..
Devastating remus/sirius love at moments, made me cry for sirius all over again. Fantastic remadora drama that never feels overwrought, but honest.
