Summary
A civil war has torn through the desperate angels in Heaven. A great number has defected to Hell. One of the remaining Heaven's faithful brings together an army to stave off the slaughter of innocent that still remain in the eternal paradise. In a desperate attempt to boost the numbers more in his favor, he recruits the last functioning machines with the promise of blood payment. Among them is V1.
In the meantime, Gabriel has to climb out of his defeat in Treachery, download some sick beats, and eat toothpaste. Not necessarily in that order.

Abruptly, Judgment summons a vision. Gabriel stares at his own corpse in stunned silence. Where they had fallen in battle, they truly look as if they had crawled into each other’s skin. Angel and machine, utterly entwined. It is impossible to distinguish where one of them ends and the other begins.
“Ah…” Gabriel struggles to find the words to argue. “Well… That’s– um.”

The blood that Alastor had in his hands was still fresh. The smell of the bodies scattered in the cabin mingled with the scent of the surrounding forest, something nauseating for most people, but which only made him want to bring more of it all.
