Deep down, Jeongguk knows that writing love letters describing everything you like about someone is somewhat of a weird coping mechanism. It’s probably especially weird that he addresses said letters and saves them to reread when he’s feeling extra lonely.
He can’t help it, though. He’s learned the hard way that letting other people in only ends in more heartbreak. And it’s safer this way, to let himself partake in the fantasy of a letter and hoping that someone reciprocates his feelings rather than to actually send one and deal with the consequences of it afterwards.
(or, the letters get out and Jeongguk gets himself a fake boyfriend.)
