When Thorn wakes up, hurting all over and lacking the memory of where he is and where he’s been and what he’s done, he's less freaked about it than he maybe should be.
He remembers the Chancellor calling him. Fox is the Chancellor’s official liaison, and Fox does his damn best to keep the rest of them out of his grip, and as such the call had been unusual, and he remembers being surprised by it. Remembers stepping into the blood red room of the Chancellor’s office, seeing the slow spread of a smile across the old man’s face, and remembers no more.

Omega grunted as she tried to escape the imperial. Her hand reached out, fingers extended, to try to grab Hunter’s outstretched hand. Omega yelled out desperately. “Hunter!”
Hunter and Omega meet eyes, one that seems a lifetime of depth, of pleading, of unwillingness to part. His eyes were the only safety left that she was clinging to. The only way to be okay. Her fingertips frantically brush Hunter’s.
The muscles in her arm strained in a final effort, then the imperial ripped the last of her away from Hunter and ran off with Omega.
Panic began to hit her. She couldn't breathe… the trees closed in on her. Her stomach dropped with absolute fear. She needed Hunter. She began hyperventilating, tears violently streaming down her face. Screams echoed with rage and fear as she bit hard on the imperial’s arm. But it was too late...
Omega turned her head and saw a branch heading straight for her. It hit her on the head, immediately causing her world to turn dark, a ringing in her ear.

Cody has a scar now, and it’s the only thing that differentiates him from Fox appearance-wise. For one, they both have the same circles under their eyes. Fox assumes that’s what comes with being a Commander. Their hands are the same, too, damaged and bruised at all times.
But the biggest difference Fox sees when he looks at Cody isn’t the scar. It’s the rage. Cody doesn’t wear that same rage.
Fox’s hands ache with the need to punch something.

Fox was a lot of things, despite what the Kaminoans wanted him to think. He was a clone, a part of the Grand Army of the Republic. Destined to fight and die for this cause, because that’s what he was made for. That was what the Republic paid to make him into. He was the commander of the Coruscant Guard. A position assigned him after his one taste of terror and glory on Geonosis. Now forever confined to the cold, concrete basement of the Senate building, and the streets of a rotting planet that did not want him. Fox was a brother, to his batchers scattered across the galaxy, and to his men on Coruscant. He was a protector, forced to keep his brothers safe from the senators they were meant to serve. Fox was a hardass, allegedly. He was a pencil pusher, a killer, a punching bag and a play thing. In the end, however, Fox was only one thing. He’d been this when he was hardly a cadet, let alone a soldier, and he would be it until the day he died.
Above all else, Fox was a liar.
