Summary
It’s inevitable. Finnegan has to find a housemate.
That’s why he printed out flyers at a downtown store with an employee staring at him with a fake smile and hung them up around town—on electrical poles, on the sides of buildings, inside buildings—he’s on his last leg. Got nothing to lose. He only dealt with going out to print and hang everything for one reason. One very vital reason. Without someone else to help pay rent, he’ll be booted out of his home of five years by September. A month away.
Beats asking one of his coworkers. Which he would really rather not do.
_____
Finnegan and Gibson, the only candidate to be his roommate, learn to live with each other.

Summary
Travis feels a presence in front of him. Then a hand on his chest, and suddenly a warm body is straddling his lap. Vité is on him, his hands grasping Travis’s horns, and his jaw locks in place in shock as he feels warm breath ghost his scalp. “To ruin me,” Vité gives a warm question, his voice soft, “is that what you want?”
Travis chokes around the knot in his throat. The answer rips out of him without his permission out of pure desperation. “Yes.”
___For months, Travis has been going to a massage therapist for his back injury. Vité is much more than he anticipated. Travis finds himself thinking about Vité even when he’s not around, which is not something that has happened to him before. It’s such a distraction that it‘s starting to interfere with his work. He has to deal with this—and fast.

Summary
“You’re not supposed to be here.” Claire husks at him, her voice shot from when she let out a startled choke at his interruption. She’s surprised at how authoritative her voice comes out.
“No, I’m not. Will you tell?” The man asks, his orange eyes pleading.
___When Claire, an aarakocra cleric, is inevitably dragged onto a ship by her teammates, she expected getting sick—of course, it’s common sense, especially for her weak stomach. What she didn’t expect was to meet a stowaway.

Summary
Buck had lost-- he was sure of this now. His resolve only lasted a few weeks before his exterior began to crack; he was never a very good actor. He couldn’t keep up the greetings and the asking questions and the easy stroll. He let his shoulders creep up to his ears, let his foot tap incessantly. He did what his Captain told him, but stopped asking for anything more. Stopped following the conversation in the back of the engine on the way to the call; he just stared out the window, thinking about the case to come, preparing for it. When he woke every morning, there was no big recovery milestone to strive for, no big fight for the soul of his career to win. Not even the happy swell of being back on shift -- something so easy to dismiss, that had dominated so much of his life, that he had taken for granted-- that had catalyzed him each morning of his first week back.
An old habit of his had returned. A bad habit.~~
or: after the lawsuit, buck confronts what it was he wanted all along. he looks and looks and longs for it; the team looks right through him. buck breaks-- right down the middle.

Summary
Bit by bit, Buck stopped.
It began with the little things. First, he stopped checking his phone when he woke up. He used to do it everyday. He’d check for notifications on Chimney’s instagram, or maybe a new message from the 118 group chat. It wasn’t that anyone other than him texted at one in the morning, but sometimes he’d sleep past one of Cap’s old-timey GIFs or whatever.
Sometimes, Athena would text and greet him good morning. And a few weeks into knowing him, Chris would send a morning message begging for help, normally because Eddie was trying to make pancakes again.
So, with everything going on, Buck always made it a point that the moment his eyes opened, he would check his phone.
Until the first week after the lawsuit, and for the seventh day in a row, there wasn’t anything there except a pitfall in Buck’s stomach.
Nothing.
Never.
Not even a quick ‘hello’.
So, Buck ceased checking his phone. After all, why did he even need to?

you wrote exactly how it feels to be shunned by those you love. the knot in your throat making it impossible to open up, the doubt that festers and grows so large it renders you speechless, hopeless, like *what’s the point*… man

“Mr. Crowley, I presume?” Aziraphale asked in lieu of an introduction, which was not forthcoming. The guy hadn’t even removed his sunglasses. Oh God, he had a tattoo on his face. Aziraphale wasn’t one to judge, but… what kind of gardener had a snake tattoo on his face?

Summary
“How have you been here like, five hours and you’re running my shitty life already,” Richie grumbles, stifling a yawn. “Are there type-A dogs? Is that a thing?”
Hot dogs for breakfast, courtesy of chef Richie, who wonders aloud if this is like, cannibalism before he puts it on a plate in front of him. Being a dog sucks, Eddie thinks gloomily, thoughts thick with visions of steel-cut oatmeal and green juices and honeydew melon, although his new taste buds have decided that hot dogs are actually just fine. His mind is the same, unfortunately, and he has to keep himself from thinking too hard on macros and his sodium intake and whether or not hot dogs are gluten-free, because he’s already got a fragile grip on everything like this and he thinks he’d lose it entirely if he did. He’d spent forty years knowing his body, every little thing about it, maintaining it carefully, like a temple, and now he doesn’t know the first thing about it. In fact, he has no idea if dogs can even have gluten allergies.
After Derry, Richie is caught in the throes of grief, and Eddie is a miniature Spitz/Pomeranian cross.Bookmarked by CytoSprout
