Summary

Decades later, Geralt is still walking the Path, alone and despised. Worn down, he looks to Skellige for safe harbor, but first he needs to get there. Queen Calanthe offers to pay for his passage in exchange for protecting her daughter Pavetta until her upcoming betrothal banquet. This includes a lot of time spent with her personal bard, Jaskier.

Summary
It had been a hard winter, harder than most. Jaskier had seemed listless and every full moon seemed to have him wandering the halls with a restless kind of energy. Geralt did his best to keep him as present as possible but something else called to him that Geralt just could not compete with.
“You have to go back soon, don’t you?” Geralt asked softly, one night as they laid in bed. Jaskier had been losing sleep and it wasn’t likely for Geralt to wake him.
Jaskier turned over, pressing his face into Geralt’s shoulder, sighing. “I don’t want to, but I can feel the sea calling to me. I’ve been gone too long I think and I can’t seem to escape it, even here.” He looked up at Geralt then, his eyes wide and full of an ache Geralt wished never existed.
“Come with me? See me off?” Jaskier asked softly. He had pulled back slightly as if waiting for a rejection.

Summary
Jaskier said that he missed Geralt every time they were apart for more than a few days. Sometimes in the spring he’d say it over and over with kisses, I missed you, I missed you, I missed you. Geralt didn't imagine he meant it. In which Jaskier and Geralt re-unite after a winter apart and Jaskier learns something new about Geralt's anatomy. Or, Geralt has horns (he files them down).

We’ve all heard this one before. Geralt stops in the wrong town, Jaskier happens to be in the right place at the (mostly) right time.
Or
Geralt gets drugged with a paralytic and left tied up in the middle of town. He thought nobody would come to save him (after all, who would?). Jaskier proves Geralt wrong, and the witcher has never been happier to be mistaken.
