I posted the headcanon 'Most ridiculous way of eddie finding out about richie's feelings: on a road trip south to visit stan and patty richie lets him use his Spotify for music and eddie finds the playlist titled 'eds <3' which is all dramatic love songs' and then I wrote it into an 8k fic whilst pulling an allnighter.

“Shut the fuck up,” Eddie starts to scoff, but then Richie taps at the toe of his shoe with his own under the table and keeps it there.
“I bet it would be some parting gift,” he murmurs low.

There was a bright and modern looking cafe on the corner of Beaver and Broad Street.
Eddie passed it daily on his way to work, and even though he never slowed down, he’d sometimes imagine himself inside: ordering, paying, sitting under the warm lights and sipping a hot cup of Joe. Maybe looking out at the world framed between the long legs of ever-present Manhattan scaffolding.
Then he’d remember he was pushing forty and was neither modern nor warm and he’d walk right past it, just like he had every other weekday for the past ten years, to sit at his computer at his wall-facing desk and sip whatever herbal concoction Myra had prepared in his thermos.
It was kind of funny how throwing that thermos in the trash was what made the divorce feel final.

The difference was that those men made their charm feel like a threat. Their smiles, a bearing of teeth, their laughter like growls as they battled it out for dominance in the office break room. Richie’s charm was easy and playful. It was disarming where others made her feel defensive. She’d walk out on stage; gangly limbs, and easy confidence, garishly patterned dress flaring out around matchstick legs and the whole room would hold its breath.
Eddie tried so hard to ignore it, she really did.
Just like she tried to ignore a lot of things about herself.
