She whined softly as Lucas gave an experimental grind against her core. She felt him smile into the kiss. A second later, he pulled away. Her eyes snapped open and she panted lightly.
“I have a theory,” he said, his voice somewhere between desperate and proud.
“Mmm?” Max’s fingers idly traced along his shoulders. She raised an eyebrow at him. Her body felt heavy, eager, a pleasant throb humming between her legs. She needed it to become more.
Without warning, Lucas rolled over to lay beside her. He propped his head up with one arm like the romancer he was. He was shirtless and Max couldn't keep her eyes focused on his face.

Erica was out at a sleepover, Charles and Sue were on a romantic anniversary getaway, and Max and Lucas had only a few more weekends at home before college. Birth control had become her best friend ever since graduation. He was rubbing off on her and now she was buzzing with anticipation.
She squeezed Lucas’s hand as he led her into the bedroom. He wasn’t saying anything, which sent a shiver of anxiety down her spine. It was the good kind of anxiety though, like the climb to the top of a rollercoaster. He squeezed back in reassurance and she smiled softly. Such a gentleman.
