Summary
After a rough diagnosis from doctors, Samira is left to take care of her ill mother between her first-year residency rotations. When she begins to understand the importance of balancing her work and personal life, she commits to switching to working the night rotation instead of the day. She will tell herself that Dr. Jack Abbot has nothing to do with this decision--this very important decision--but she also can't believe something she knows not to be true.

Summary
In hindsight, Lucy isn’t entirely sure how it begins.
All she knows is that it’s Friday night and she’s sitting at a table with Tim, a bottle of whiskey between them, and a paper and pen on the table.
“Hard limits?” Tim asks, and Lucy bites her lip as she thinks. She’s tempted to say ‘none’, but she had been blissfully unaware of all the possible sexual acts that could come out in a Dominate and Submissive relationship until Tim had told her to do her research, and then meet him for dinner on Friday to talk about it in a tone that booked no argument and also turned her on so quickly that her vision blurred.
That had been two days ago, and she has barely slept since then, because every bit of research she does causes her brain to short circuit when she considers it in relation to Tim.

Samira's father always used to say the immovable objects of the world had better watch out for her unstoppable force.
She doubted even he could have prepared her for the alpha that was Jack Abbot.

Summary
"Sometimes the grief —" She motions both hands in a wide cradle at her gut. "Feels like a stomach. And it's not hungry anymore, but it's not empty either. It's just been digesting for decades and nothing is moving, it's just simmering and building and it burns."
It takes a moment, but she steels herself enough to meet his eyes again.
She doesn't think she has any right to ask, but she's already cracked open — more than she's ever been with someone — so she does.
"Do you still feel that way?"

Summary
Samira Mohan’s life is divided cleanly into two distinct halves: before PittFest and after it. She will never again be the person she was when she clocked in for that shift. She will never forget the give of her patient’s skull beneath an EZ-IO or the slip of the pigtail catheter between her fingers. Even months later, she’s still struggling to unpack all the ways that day changed her life.
Perhaps the strangest residual effect is that Jack Abbot sort of, inexplicably, becomes her best friend.

Summary
As she gets closer, Tim is immediately drawn to her wide brown eyes; they are broadcasting her emotional state for everyone to see — some combination of eager and excited and nervous. The polar opposite of the cool and guarded expression he is careful to keep on his own face.
Angela turns to look at him, clearly trying to gauge his reaction before she whacks him with her bouquet and hisses, “That is your soon-to-be wife, Tim, not your new boot, so maybe chill out with the death glare. You shouldn’t be trying to intimidate her.”
Tim ignores her; he begs to differ. This woman is supposed to be his wife. Chosen by supposed experts to be his life partner, his perfect other half. He is sure as hell going to be assessing whether she measures up to his standards. The fact that he already knows all of this is bullshit honestly just makes him that much more inclined to prove it.
When she reaches the end of the aisle, she stops in front of him and tilts her head to smile up at him in this sweet, hopeful way that he simultaneously finds incredibly endearing and incredibly irritating — like he holds her fate in his hands, and she is counting on him not to f*ck it up.

Summary
Anyone looking for a fic where Tim suddenly gains the ability to hear Lucy's thoughts?? Given the fact that she's still his Rookie, Tim's probably going to be in for a surprise when secrets suddenly become nonexistent between them.
----------
Other officers can quote protocol all they want – he knows what it feels like to be trapped behind a wheel, desperate to know if the person next to you is still breathing. He’s lived it far too many times. Procedure doesn’t account for the sheer terror of those moments, the icy grip of helplessness. No checklist can.Which was why, when the world exploded in a symphony of squealing tires and shattering glass, Tim’s first coherent thought wasn’t about the pain in his chest where the seatbelt had caught him or the warm trickle of blood moving down his forehead from where his skull had connected with the window. It was about the rookie currently sitting in his passenger seat.
